Summer is coming

It’s just the beginning of March and I’m already feeling the summer vibes hitting me as I write this post.

Summer isn’t just about chilling at the beach, taking a dip at the pool or visiting your grandparents over the vacation months. There’s a lot more transitions that happen over the summer season, it could be your hairstyle, diet or something else. So I thought of writing about few such transitions that could make your summer time more pleasant.

To begin with let’s talk about hairstyles. When the temperature is going to hit its peak in the coming months, a summer haircut can make you feel a lot comfy and cool. So here are some cool summer haircuts.

1. Man bun :If you aren’t in a mood to get your hairs cut short then you can go for a man bun. This hairstyle lets you keep your hair long and also ensures easy movement of air around your head, in turn keeping you cool.

Man bun with faded sides is a haircut where the hair on the sides of your head is short (similar to undercut) and the hair on the top is long. This haircut allows you to stay cool during the summer without causing any harm to your swag.

2. Low fade and high fade :This cool hairstyle ensures that there’s no heavy load on your head and it helps you stay cool and comfy.

Now let’s talk about some food. Keeping the body cool is extremely essential task during the summer, some amazing food items that keeps you cool during the summer are

1. Kuchlakki Ganji a.k.a. Boiled Brown Rice :This particular dish is one of my favourites. It helps you stay cool during the summer. It is also one of the most preferred dish in coastal regions of India. The temperature in coastal regions is usually very high and most people residing there prefer brown rice over white rice.

If you are vegan, boiled brown rice (without discarding water) and pickle is a good option to keep your body cool during the summer. If you find the taste too plain, you can discard the water and add some tasty sambar to the rice and have it.

If you are a non-vegetarian, you can have cooked brown rice with fish curry or chicken curry. But chicken isn’t a good option for the summer.

2. It is summer and many prefer liquid coolers over heavy food. Some amazing natural liquid coolers are tender coconut water, fruit juices, mocktails etc.

One might need a lot of this if he or she is too attached towards liquid coolers, therefore it would be a good idea to learn some cool mocktail recipes and prepare it in home. Over time, it could turn into a good summer hobby and also it would prevent you from spending a lot in juice bars. Similarly you can give a shot for ice cream mixing and make some cool Gud Buds or DBCs.

Okay, let’s talk about some outfits now. As the temperature soars high, one would prefer to wear clothes that are much comfy and cool. So, here are some cool outfit ideas for the summer,

1. Go linen : Linen clothes are very light on the body and they allow air to pass through the fabric, keeping you cool and comfy.

2. Summer accessories : Sunglasses and hats are a good example of basic summer accessories. They not only keep the heat away but also elevate your style game to the next storey.

Flower Photography

Hello readers, in this post I’ll be giving some tips on how to photograph flowers.

1. Choose the right angle : The angle from which you click the snap makes a lot of difference in the final result. It can make the image look beautiful or ugly. Before you click the photo, move around the subject, make sure your camera is on and keep looking at the display. There’ll be that one magical angle from which the subject looks stunning, stick to that angle, lock the focus on the subject and click the image.

2. Play with the shutter speed : If there is sufficient light and if you want to capture motion (shaking flowers, moving car in the background, flying bees etc.) then change the shutter speed. The faster the shutter speed, the sharper the image. However, light absorbed reduces when you increase the shutter speed. So you’ll have to increase the exposure or do the magic while editing.

3. Make use of the weather : Most photographers have a feeling that ‘you need to click images when its bright and sunny’ but this need not be true. You can get amazing results even when the weather is cloudy and moody.

4. Do not over do with the exposure : Extreme exposure and hard light eliminates shadows and minute highlights. This spoils the natural feel of the subject. So click the photo in actual ambient light conditions.
