Bvlgari  Aqua Pour Homme Review

Bvlgari Aqua Pour Homme is an aquatic fragrance created by Jacques Cavallier. I got this fragrance in January 2017 and it was my daily cologne till June 2017.This is also one of my favourites out of all the colognes I’ve put on till date.

Well, speaking about the cologne it is very aquatic and fresh. The top notes include Posidonia Oceania sea weed, Santolina lavender cotton and some citrus vibes like mandarin. While the base notes include Clary sage and mineral amber which add to the woody vibes.

With respect to versatility it is more of a summer fragrance and a day time fragrance. Now if you are wondering why I mentioned it as my daily cologne, the reason is I live in a tropical place and it would be like summer round the year.

Talking about longevity of this perfume, it lasts pretty long. I would put this on at around 7:30 am in the morning and small amounts of it would be there even at 6 o clock in the evening. But this mayn’t be the case with everyone. With respect to projection, the projection would be quite good in the initial few hours and would gradually fall post four hours.

One of the other things I like about this perfume apart from the fragrance is the shape of its bottle. The bottle is circular in shape.

How much does it cost ?

The price of 150 ml  Bvlgari Aqua Pour Homme costs INR 6000 which is very less when compared to some of the other perfumes in the aquatic and fresh category which is as good as this.

Is there any alternatives to it ?

If you are an aquatic fragrance lover or fresh fragrance lover, here are some alternatives to it

• Sauvage by Christian Dior  ( fresh fragrance )

• Acqua Di Gio Profumo by Giorgio Armani  ( fresh fragrance )

• Dylan Blue by Versace ( Aquatic and fresh fragrance )

With respect to pricing Sauvage and Acqua Di Gio Profumo are expensive Dylan Blue falls closer to Aqua Pour Homme. 200 ml of Dylan Blue costs INR 8200, which means you are paying INR 41 per ml. Whereas Aqua Pour Homme is INR 6000 per 150 ml which means you are paying INR 40 per ml.

Few extra tips :

• If you are money conscious, purchasing a bigger bottle fetches you more volume of perfume for a lesser price. 50ml of Aqua Pour Homme costs INR 3300 on Amazon while 150 ml costs you INR 6000 in Sephora.

• Buy the cologne from a genuine source. Because a counterfeit or fake product can break your heart and wallet.

• I got the product from Sephora and I can assure you that it is genuine and safe place to buy colognes.

• If you are buying it in Sephora and if you are a first time customer don’t forget to ask for Sephora White Card because points are added for money you’ve spent. Every INR 75 = 1 point.  250 point* = Black card upgrade + 10% off on your next visit ( *T&C apply ).

PVR Gold Class Review

I had just finished my seventh semester examinations and it was the first day of my vacation. I was checking Book My Show and as I scrolled down I saw this movie called ‘The Foreigner’ and the best thing, it was being played at the Gold Class of PVR Cinemas. Guess what’s more surprising ? The price of the ticket was only 250 INR. There was availability of ticket and therefore I thought of buying the ticket at the ticket counter rather than booking it online. All this happened at around 9 o’ clock in the morning. The show was at 10:45 a.m. I left my home at 10:15 a.m. and reached the place around 10:30 a.m. What happened next in simply GOLD CLASS…

The tickets were segregated into two types, platinum superior and platinum. The last row of the theatre fell under the category of platinum superior and the rest of the rows under platinum. The theatre had only four rows, A, B, C and D consisting a total of 32 seats. The platinum superior seats were slightly expensive than the platinum seats. I booked a seat in row C, seat number 4. The ticket was handed over to me in a fancy manner, inside a ticket holder ( I don’t know what it’s called ). I entered the lounge through the first metal detector, where I had to show the tickets to the lady next to the detector. As I moved in further, there was a second round of checking, where a strong and heavily built man checked me using a portable detector and yes, I had to show my tickets to him. Now I had entered the lounge. The lounge was amazing and right opposite to the seating area was the food counter. Since I was getting late I couldn’t spend much of a time in the lounge. As I moved further straight I saw stairs to my left and the directions to the auditorium were hanging from the ceiling. The stairs reminded me of the stairs in my favourite cricket stadium. The stairs were wide and beautiful. As I reached the top, I had to steer left to enter the auditorium. I walked inside after pulling the majestic door. My heart was pumping in ecstasy as I walked further to find my seat. I found my seat. The seat was biggg. It had recliner facility and also a small pillow was placed on the seat. In the previous reviews, I had read that a Himalayan water bottle would be given to everyone watching the movie. But I couldn’t find anything like that, neither was I interested to ask for the water bottle. Not because I wasn’t thirsty but I was scared if I had to pay extra for it. You know how much food and beverage costs in PVR right ? LOL !!! I don’t know how much a water bottle costs there but yeah, let’s get back to the seats. The seats had buttons below the left arm rest and I could control the recliner and inclination of the seat and I guess there was a button to call the attendant too. There was a food menu kept in between every two seats. There were lamps in between every two seats and the seats had a movable tray.

The movie started and the first half was done. Now it was time for the interval. I moved out, off the cosy seats and headed towards the washroom through a narrow lane with beautiful flooring and lovely wall décor. The washroom was beautiful too and one thing I noticed here was the presence of moisturizer. Hand driers and premium tissues are common but moisturizers aren’t. But then it’s Gold class washroom you know…

I moved back to my lovely cosy seats and watched the second half of the movie. The overall experience was amazing and I would rate it 9/10.

Now the question is, Is the Gold Class overpriced ? I would definitely say no. If you actually check for the prices on weekdays and morning shows, the price would be less. If you ever feel that “I should take a day off from work and relax watching a lovely movie at an amazing place”, then PVR Gold Class is the place.

But then highly anticipated and overrated movies are really expensive and the prices can go well around one grand per ticket.

I remember paying 400 INR at a different theatre for normal regular seats for an overrated movie. Comparing that experience to the PVR experience, I would definitely say anything around 500 INR ( plus or minus a little ) is definitely bang for the buck.

See you next time with a different post. Byeeieee.

HOW TO BUY A PERFUME

Well, now you might be thinking ‘Is there a particular way to buy a perfume? ‘. And the answer to it is YES.
So here is how you do it, if you are buying a perfume you aren’t familiar with, once you head to the store ask the salesman or the saleswoman for what type of cologne you are looking for , he/she would suggest few and spray some on the strips for you to sniff. If you liked a particular fragrance then don’t be in a hurry and buy one in the next few seconds, the reason for this is as follows

1. Most fragrances do not smell the same as they did at the opening.

2. The way in which a particular fragrance smells varies from person to person. That’s mainly because the fragrance mixes up with your body essence and sometimes it can turn awry.

3. You mayn’t like the perfume you bought because it mayn’t be complete or it mayn’t completely satisfy your olfactory to the fullest.

You can follow the below mentioned simple steps to overcome these hurdles,

1. Instead of asking the store attendant to spray it on the test strip, you can ask him/her to spray it on your forearms, so that you’ll know how it smells on you.

2. You can follow the above step when you are on some sort of shopping that’ll exceed an hour or more, that is once the store attendant sprays the perfume on your forearms, you can tell him/her that “I’ll be coming back in an hour or so, as I want to know how it smells on me”. Make sure you are polite to the store attendant while saying it. Now you can head to some other shops for shopping something else like clothes, footwear etc. or maybe even go for a movie. In the due course of shopping or movie, you’ll notice the behaviour of the perfume on you.In some cases you may even receive compliments from total strangers around you. That’s when you know you’ve put on the right cologne. Now you can head back to the cologne store to buy the cologne.

3. In case you are someone who is really concerned about extreme longevity of the perfume, you can follow step 1 in the morning and head back to the store in the evening or even night, provided the perfume aces the longevity test.

Bonus Tips:

1. Choose EDP version of the perfume instead of EDT, if you want better longevity.

2. You can read reviews of the perfume on fragantica.com. The perfume’s complete history is available on it.
